Kerlink iFemtoCell-evolution unexpected offline period
Base station: Kerlink iFemtoCell-evolution
LRR-UUID: SIM/APN: iot.melita.io (Melita M2M SIM, roaming as Vodafone.de 4G)
Issue
The base station went offline (no LRC connection) for an extended
period - last confirmed activity ~2026-08-15 00:00 UTC, self-healing
reboot triggered 2026-08-24 06:17 (log: "No LRC connection during more
than 5400 s => reboot #1"). On-site power-cycling by our field partner
did not restore connectivity. The unit only came back online once
brought to our office and connected via Ethernet.
What we've verified since
- Cellular (wwan0) connects cleanly: APN correct, IP assigned
(10.32.18.251), zero interface errors/drops, ~121ms average RTT,
throughput up to 69-76 Mbit/s, 3/5 signal bars - no sign of a weak or
marginal connection.
- Failover configuration (primary/secondary, Available/Active) is
correctly set and functioning.
- No error entries found in on-device logs for the outage window - the
rotating daily log files had already overwritten that period by the
time we investigated.
Question for Actility
Given cellular now tests as healthy, the failure pattern (working
normally, then completely dark for ~9 days, unaffected by a local power
cycle, only recovering once moved to a different location) doesn't look
like a weak-signal issue. Can you check on your side:
- Any SIM-level event (data cap, suspension, provisioning issue) on
this SIM between 2026-08-15 and 2026-08-24?
- Any recorded network-server-side connectivity issue for this
LRR-UUID in that window?
- Whether an offline-alert/notification can be configured for this
base station going forward, so we're notified immediately rather
than discovering an outage days later.
