I'm running ThingPark Community, and I've tried to activate ADR (US915). All of my uplinks are confirmed (I know that this is suboptimal). Once I've done this, I notice that the gateway can receive packets from my device but can't receive the acknowledgment.
With the default RX1DROFFSET value of "0", this means that the spreading factor for the downlink packet is the same as the uplink packet (for 125 kHz uplinks and 500 kHz downlinks). From reading the specs of my device, there is a 5.4 dB degradation in the sensitivity, going from 125 kHz to 500 kHz. If the gateway were transmitting at 5.4 dB higher power (which it could do because the bandwidth is higher), then everything should work fine. It does not, so either the gateway is not transmitting at a higher power, or my receiver is desensed.
One solution to this is to request a higher value of RX1DROFFSET. This will increase the spreading factor for downlink messages (such as ACKs). What I don't see anywhere is a place where this parameter can be changed. Is it hiding somewhere in there?
